The Homestead

Our Homestead

Wooded Acres Farm is a good old fashioned homestead where we believe in values and our faith in Jesus Christ. We strive to live a simple life where our children are raised with a solid foundation. They learn where their food comes from and how to live the way our forefathers did before us. We believe in the importance of preserving our heritage and passing on information and beliefs that our country was founded on. The ability to live independently will soon be forgotten with a passing of a generation, and if not preserved it will be lost forever.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.

We purchased the land that is now Wooded Acres Farm in February 2016. Back then it was just a small little home in the middle of the woods. The only cleared and level area on the entire property was the small yard and the homes foundation, hence the name Wooded Acres Farm. Sense moving in we have logged the land, excavated pastures, seeded the land, put up fences, and built a farm. We now live on our homestead with Mini Alpine Dairy Goats, Nigerian Dwarfs, and Meat Goats, American Guinea Hogs, Meat Rabbits, Chickens, Turkeys, Ducks, Honey Bees, a Donkey, and our Maremma Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGD).  We try to produce as much of our own food as possible by raising our own meat and gardening. We raise only Heritage breeds so that feed cost is low and food quality is high. We use as many of Gods resources as possible and eliminate waist by utilizing everything to its fullest potential. What cannot be eaten by our family is fed to the animals, and what cannot be eaten by our animals is used for compost. Our children are involved in everything we do on the farm from raising baby animals to processing meat, and from building shelters to milking goats.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call on the  name of the Lord shall be saved.
